Terms and Conditions of access to Stonehenge

In order to gain permssion for access to hold ritual at Stonehenge, Cor Gawr and its members, guests, and all attending must agree to the Terms and Conditions as set out from to time by English Heritage.  When applying for tickets to attend the Gorsedd rituals held at Stonehenge, you are agreeing to abide by these terms and conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STONE CIRCLE ACCESS

  1. English Heritage accepts no liability for any injury to persons or damage to property, arising in any way whatsoever whilst at Stonehenge and entry is at the risk of the applicant.
  2. No person may touch, lean against, stand on, or climb on the stones, or disturb the ground in any way.  No equipment can be attached to, leant on or supported by the stones.  Boards must be provided for all equipment that is approved
  3. There must be no damage as a result of access.  This includes ground penetration, wear and tear of the ground and use of any oil based substances, candles or naked flames. The applicant will be required to pay reasonable costs of any damage caused.
  4. No dogs are allowed beyond the main entrance point [except guide dogs].
  5. Attendance is strictly limited to 100 people in total, and all those attending must produce a valid ticket at the gate for entry into the Car Park and a ticket for subsequent entry into the monument field itself. NO entry to either the car park or the monument field will be permitted without a valid ticket.
  6. Wedding ceremonies are not conducted at Stonehenge. (This does not include handfastings which may be offered as part of the Gorsedd ceremony)
  7. All those attending must adhere to any instruction(s) given by English Heritage staff or their representatives regarding the use of the monument prior to and during access.  The applicant will be required to pay the reasonable costs of any damage caused.
  8. Eating, drinking or smoking is not permitted at any time inside the centre circle or anywhere in the Monument Field.
  9. Please note that glass will not be allowed into the Monument Field as many people walk barefoot and, in addition, there are livestock and wildlife in the area.
  10. No amplified music is permitted at Stonehenge or in the surrounding landscape.  Acoustic instruments are normally permitted.
  11. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions, especially climbing on the stones, will result in any individual or group being asked to leave the site.

English Heritage reserves the right to cancel any arranged visit at short notice and will not be held liable for any costs incurred.

INFORMATION ON FILMING/PHOTOGRAPHY FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES

English Heritage has a policy of charging for the use of Stonehenge for filming/ photography/videos and each application will be considered individually.   All applications for media access should be made in advance.  Please contact Sarah Eastel Locations telephone +44 1225 858 100.

All detailed arrangements must be agreed in advance in respect of commercial filming/photography or use of any kind.

No use can be made of the English Heritage name or identifying mark without prior consent in writing.
